Aeration also improves drought resistance, improves the soil structure and assists in the control of thatch. Our machines are ideal for regular use on bowling greens, cricket squares, lawn tennis courts, golf greens/tees and similar fine turf areas/lawns. Available for hire: Sisis vertical action aerator complete with either: Hollow Tines: (Autumn) Remove cores of soil to relieve the compaction caused by play and rolling and to make a soil exchange. Slitting Tines: (Autumn and Spring) Encourage new root growth and permit the entry of fertilizer and dressings. Round Pointed Tines: (summer) Help moisture and air to get to the grass roots during the growing season. Scarifier: (Autumn and Spring) Removes the thatch build-up allowing oxygen, water and nutrients to get to the root system. Use before you fertilize. What is Thatch?
